Who is Sunsara Taylor?

Because Sunsara Taylor is a key initiator of the movement to End Pornography and Patriarchy: The Enslavement and Degradation of Women (StopPatriarchy.org) and because she has done a lot of work which is directly relevant to this movement, we provide this page for people to become more acquainted with her and her work.  Her views are her own, not those of everyone in the wide range of viewpoints that make up our movement.

Sunsara Taylor is a writer for Revolution Newspaper, sits on the Advisory Board of World Can't Wait, and is initiator of Stop Patriarchy. She has written on the rise of theocracy, wars and repression in the U.S., led in building resistance to these crimes, and contributed to the movement for revolution to put an end to all this. She takes as her foundation the new synthesis on revolution and communism developed by Bob Avakian. You can find her impressive verbal battles with Bill O'Reilly and various political commentary on things from abortion to religion to cultural relativism by searching “Sunsara Taylor” on youtube.  See some of Sunsara's speeches and interviews below or on our History page.

Sunsara Taylor was a key initiator of this movement to End Pornography and Patriarchy: the Enslavement and Degradation of Women, a.k.a. Stop Patriarchy.  She led the nationwide Abortion Rights Freedom Ride in the summer of 2013, launching a nationwide political and moral counteroffensive against the attacks on abortion, re-setting the terms and re-claiming the moral high ground from the anti-abortion movement FOR the liberation of women, and rallying people together across 15 states to launch a movement that does not rely on the "official" political process and aims to defeat the war on women.

Who is stop patriarchy?

Stop Patriarchy is a group for everyone who wants to FIGHT to STOP the enslavement of women. Not politely lobby against it. Not grumble at the TV. Not simply post things on Twitter. And definitely not sit around waiting for those in power to “come to their senses.” It is also a movement for everyone who can be won to see the need for this – we are fighting aggressively to change minds and to grow and deepen and escalate until we succeed in changing everything.
